Trustees Approve More Than £52,000 in Grant Awards
In a busy and productive meeting of the Board held on 30 May 2024, awards totalling in excess of £52,000 were approved to support various community projects and educational establishments. The grants submitted allowed the trustees to see how much good work is being carried out by the various groups and organisations who are committed to making a positive impact on young people in our local communities.
Grant Approvals
After thorough deliberation and discussion, the Board approved grants for a diverse range of projects, from local toddler groups and organisations offering equine therapy for children with additional support needs to our high schools.
Some of the key beneficiaries were:
- Educational Establishment Awards:
- The annual block grants to each of the four high schools in Clydesdale were approved, with an increase on last year’s awards. These grants allow head teachers to distribute the funds within the school. However, they wish, in order to help all students build essential life skills and achieve academic success.
- Funds were also provided to support two Clydesdale Primary Schools purchase classroom and playground equipment and to part-fund a residential outing.
- Gala Day Events:
- Grants were awarded to Biggar and Carnwath gala day event organisers. The Loaningdale Trust will always try to support the gala day organisers within Clydesdale, as trustees believe a gala day strengthens community bonds, supports local enterprises, and contributes to the overall vibrancy and well-being of the community.
Moving Forward
The approved grants will be disbursed in the coming weeks, and the board will monitor the progress of each project to ensure effective utilisation of the funds. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to fostering community development and supporting impactful initiatives.
The trustees wish to extend their thanks to everyone involved in supporting young people in the various Clydesdale communities, and they look forward to witnessing the positive changes these grants will bring. Stay tuned for updates on the progress and success stories from the funded projects.
